The Wessex Autistic Society ( Reg Charity Nos : 1000792 )

Celebrating our Ruby Anniversary in 2008, local charity,the Wessex Autistic Society was formed 40 years ago by a group of parents of children with autism in Dorset. The Wessex Autistic Society exists to help people with autism access good education, housing and services that in turn will help them to develop their social & communication skills, become more independent and lead more productive lives.

The Society operates a purpose built school, Portfield school, for children with autism from the ages of 3-19 on Parley Lane, Christchurch. The charity also provides respite and sessional care, residential & supported living services, a drop in service for adults with autism, an information & advice line and support groups.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US

Volunteers always needed for events, collections, admin & fundraising ideas! Raffle prizes always needed. Donate a gift in kind. Become a member. Sponsor an event. Create your own event. Fund a specific project.

RAISE AWARENESS, RAISE FUNDS

WIMBOURNE ROTARY SWIMATHON - November 15th 2008

We are entering 3 teams into the swimathon at Queen Elizabeth Leisure Centre at 3-45pm. We need 6 more swimmers & lots of support so if you'd like to sponsor us go to www.justgiving.com/twas.

CHRISTCHURCH CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL - December 6th 2008

Head down to Bargates and enjoy our snowy wonderland with stalls,offers & santa's grotto as we turn on the lights in the town centre from 1pm.
