Where I run (2)

I'll start things off with some of my favourite routes to run.

1. Northamptonshire.Brackley.

Starting from the mini roundabout just right of Manor Farm on the map, this is a run of just under 6 miles that I run clockwise. The estate road that passes the leisure centre (from the mini roundabout) is just over a mile up hill, which certainly gets the blood moving.

From Old Glebe Farm across the A43 dual carriageway to the stream in Turweston it's a gentle downhill with plenty of trees giving a canopy across the road before 2 short sharp climbs up to the A422 from where you can see Brackley from above over open fields to the right. If you like to run at night this is not a sensible run as this section is really really dark (no street lights!)

Time to get your breath back on the run down the A422 across the A43 but only for about 200 yards more before the hardest climb of the run which gets gradually steeper up to the junction in the high street with the church on the corner.

From here it's down through the town centre (try to ignore the many takeaways here) where my legs recover a little before a level last half mile to the start.

2. Cornwall.Tresco, Isle of Scilly.

This is one of the most wonderful places you could ever hope to run with clean air, clear seas and fantastic views all the way. It's not a long route, approximately 3 miles so you may want to go round twice, but saying that it has some pretty tough inclines in it so just one circle feels like 5 miles or more - you have been warned!!

Starting from the Hotel you run with the hotel beach and views across to St.Martins on your left.
